Meryl Streep and Robert Redford star in this romantic drama directed by Sydney Pollack. In 1914, Karen Dinesen (Streep) travels to Nairobi to enter into a marriage of convenience with Baron Bror Blixen (Klaus Maria Brandauer), who has bought a coffee farm there. They eventually begin living separate lives but Karen finds herself falling in love with the country and its people, as well as with the fiercely independent Denys Finch Hatton (Redford). The cast also includes Michael Kitchen, Suzanna Hamilton and Michael Gough.
