Silent : a portrait of deserted Orkney buildings

Allardyce, Keith2016
Books, Manuscripts
Keith Allardyce, building on the success of his Found series of books, which featured Orkney beachcombing finds, now turns his camera on silent, desolate and run-down buildings around the Orcadian countryside. Once cosy homes, boisterous schoolrooms and coldly pragmatic wartime installations feature and there is even a 'honeymoon cottage'. All the buildings have stories to tell and in Silent Tom Muir weaves the tapestry of words behind the images Allardyce has captured.
