Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton star in this sci-fi action drama co-written and directed by James Cameron. The Terminator (Schwarzenegger), a cyborg assassin from a future dominated by machines, is sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Hamilton), whose unborn son will one day become a rebel leader. Meanwhile, the rebels send Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) back in time to protect Sarah and stop the Terminator, thereby ensuring that events will follow their pre-ordained course.
